YPF's research team was multidisciplinary, and included staff with backgrounds in psychology, sociology, youth work, and education. All of YPF’s research and evaluation activities were designed to inform policy and practice and to improve the lives of young people.
Most of the research was qualitative in nature, using in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and diary methods, although we also carried out more quantitative work, including large-scale surveys. Some project involved analysing/collating existing data sets such as those from government sources.
YPF had much experience of researching a range of different populations, including accessing those groups who are often considered ‘hard to reach’.
