TALKING ABOUT ALCOHOL

Funded by the Alcohol Education and Research Council (AERC)
This 16 page Guide aims to help young people and parents to communicate effectively about alcohol, in order to keep young people safe. It is based on research underaken by TSA researchers during 2005. It is designed to provide information for parents, and to share parents' worries, ideas and 'hints and tips'. It will also be of use for practitioners working with the parents of young people.

This 12 page Guide was produced in collaboration with Disabled Parents Network. It contains articles, information, and resources for people with disabilities, who are parents of teenagers. Most of the articles are written by parents involved in DPN and the newsletter is aimed at disabled parents and practitioners working with parents. Supported by a grant from the DfES.

This 16 page guide is for people who are thinking of producing a newsletter for parents of teenagers. It's for both parent-led support groups, and for practitioners working with parents.
It covers the following: Tips and suggestions on producing a newsletter; Thinking about your audience; Style and format issues; Printing costs; A guide to creating a newsletter on Microsoft Word; Making your newsletter available in accessible formats; A list of parenting organisations and websites, that you might want to include in your newsletter. Pages may be photocoied for use by parents, practitioners and community groups.
