Contacting services on the ‘map’

You will see that organisations have given contact names for the different services listed on the ‘map’ and sometimes for an overall parenting service contact. With each of these contact names there is an email link provided. As a temporary arrangement you will see that any prison service contacts go to an email to Sarah Lindfield, the TSA Project Manager. This is because the prison service are currently exploring how best to set up a contact system which will avoid potential security risks. Please write in to the subject heading who the email is for and in the message text space enter the email content as usual and send it to TSA. Your email will then be forwarded by TSA through to the person you wish to contact. When the secure system is established the links will be changed to reflect the new arrangements.

Parentcraft Course Description: This is a group programme which runs over seven weeks for two hours per week, with approximately seven young fathers taking part at a time. It involves group work and practical parenting skills work and is accredited by the Open College Network. Click here for more information Who the service is aimed at: Young fathers aged 15-21 years, although it is also open to non-fathers. Who the service is delivered by: City College Manchester run through Thorn Cross Education department. Family days Description: Family days are held twice yearly and they involve groupwork and one to one work. Story Book Dads Description: Story Book Dads is a project for fathers reading and taping stories for their children onto CD’s as well as poetry messages and talking letters. It is provided across three establishments: Thorn Cross, Lancaster Farms and Hindley YOI’s. Click here for more information Who the service is aimed at: Young fathers.
