A one-day training course

The course aims to increase understanding of mental health problems and how they affect young people and to consider ways to work constructively with these issues.

The course covers:

  • Recognise the possible signs of mental health problems in young people
  • Explain the social, emotional and psychological issues that may affect the well-being of young people with mental health problems
  • Understand how to support young people with mental health problems including building confidence and self-esteem
  • Understand the statutory and legal frameworks in relation to young people and mental health problems
  • Develop practical strategies for helping young people
  • Feel more confident about how to respond when dealing with young people with mental health problems
