Against the Odds-
Building Resilience in Young People
26 January 2010 (Manchester)

Some young people cope with difficulties more easily than others. The concept of resilience looks at the factors that help children and young people manage, cope and even thrive in the face of adversity and disadvantage. This course looks at these factors in detail and explores how workers can identify, nurture and build upon a child's/young person's resilience, looking at opportunities in the individual, the family and the community. It focuses on how you can develop an approach that builds on strengths to help young people deal with and manage adversity.
